FAQ

(Frequently Asked Questions)

What makes your body hold the correct alignment?

Your muscles move your bones and if your primary muscles are getting the proper stimulus, then your bones will begin to conform to this alignment.  Not only will you enjoy the liberty to run, jump, dance, climb, and kick - but stability, strength and endurance will also be yours.  It's time to be FIT, to be VITAL and feel VIBRANT again!

Why has my body begun to deviate?

There could be many reasons for this, however, due to the lack of movement in our society, our bodies are not getting the stimulus they need to maintain proper alignment.  We no longer use all of our muscles like our ancestors did before machines and technology took over.  The structure of our bodies hasn't changed, but movement has or lack thereof.  Some muscles in our bodies get over-used with a repetitive motion, while others are "sleeping".   If there is too much stimuli for some muscles and not for others, then your "working" muscles begin to compensate for the weak ones.  PAT focuses on bilateral exercise, thus working muscles on both sides of the body, treating it all as one unit.

How do I correct my dysfunction?

If you want to fix your dysfunction, then you need to create balance in your load-bearing joints by correcting muscles that had to compensate for the weak ones.

For example, if you have a job that requires sitting all day, computer work, playing an instrument, travelling, etc. and not using your thigh muscles which help you as you walk, then other muscles in your legs begin to compensate.  The brain then tells these secondary muscles to take over.   When this happens pain can set in the knees which can create weak ankles and feet problems.

How do I get proper alignment and Pain- Free?

- Treat your body as a unit

In order for you to get proper alignment, you must move and breathe, but it is essential to move with the RIGHT kind of movement and breathe properly.   Your muscles will need to be re-trained in order for your body to restore itself to function correctly.  This is achieved by Postural Alignment Therapy (PAT) which will work your body's muscles bilaterally (both sides)   Once you begin to get your load-bearing joints balanced, you will feel more stability, feel VIBRANT and have a better outlook on life with your pain under control.

Who benefits from Postural Alignment Therapy and how?

With the gentle and workable exercises, B Vibrant/PAT is for most people.   If you desire to be Pain-Free, want to keep yourself from  future injuries or just want to get FIT by making movement a part of your daily life (getting into athletics, i.e.: biking, performance) then postural alignment is for you.

The only way true success will be achieved by PAT is by being committed to the program and to yourself and by learning how to take responsibility for your own health.  Even though many clients have found relief from chronic pain after their first couple of sessions, it will take some time to strengthen your muscles to bring correct alignment.  It is VITAL to finish and complete all recommended sessions for the best optimal health.  In order for your body to restore itself and prevent further dysfunction and compensation, you will need daily stimulus.

How much time will I have to invest?

PAT requires a time commitment.  Remember it took you years to get in this dysfunction (unless of course you were injured due to an accident) and it is going to take some time and committment to get out of it, but every minute you spend will be worth your time.

Your first and second session will require more time, generally 90 minutes or less.  This all depends upon where your pain level is and how eager you are to get out of pain.  It may only take 30 minutes.  I do my best to work within your daily schedule.

After an individual, customized exercise menu, selected from over 500 exercises, is created for you, you will need to exercise everyday if you want to achieve optimal health.  After your pain begins to fade and you've gone through all of your sessions, you should be able to cut back to three days per week.  However, keep in mind the more you keep moving the better balance you will have, the better you will feel and the more energy, ultimately, that you'll have.
